Exhibition Description:

Paul Tzanetopoulos’ exhibition was an inter-media installation utilizing interior and exterior signage with interlinked television lighting elements and a composited video projection. “Which Green Is Our Bush?” was a work that illustrated our president’s stance on green issues; the confusion between corporate green and ecological green seems conspicuous.  The piece utilized local broadcast television and video projection to overlay our day-to-day preoccupation with, and relative neglect of, our geo-ecological imperatives.  Four television channels were composited over a green locator dot, (part of Tzanetopoulos’ You Are Here Series) reminding all of his/her effect and consciousness on geo-social issues.  In the gallery, the four channels were filtered by the green locator dot, and on the edges of the projection, the true colors of the channels appeared.  These projections were real-time closed circuit elements of live television, similar to many of Tzanetopoulos’ installations.  The four channels were viewed on inverted table elements, live, on opposing interior walls.   See video, below.

Tzanetopoulos often comments on current political issues, as he did in one of his installations regarding Ronald Regan’s presidency, “Grin and Bear it Ronald Reagan” (1978 1982) which featured a gallery installation with cartoon imagery and documented sky writing.
